Grieving For A Loved One
Grief is not a mental disorder, but it does include changes in the intellectual, emotional, and behavioral levels. When we grieve, we usually go through different phases, which are flexible and do not have to take place in a certain order.
The denial phase
Denial, as well as the state of shock, are mechanisms that temporarily help us, immediately after we encounter loss, by protecting us from overwhelming emotions. The person at this stage cannot believe that the loved one is no more, expects his return and denies that the loss has occurred.
The anger phase
When the mechanism of denial starts to fade, there is an activation of the awareness of loss and the establishment of contact with a painful reality, which leads to a violent emotional reaction. Then comes the rage. Even though we know that no one is to blame for the loss, we may need to blame someone for the injustice we have experienced, we may be angry at life in general, at people close to us, and even at the person who left us.
Depression phase
When we talk about depression in this context, we do not use this term in the clinical sense of depressive disorder. The depression phase is considered a normal response to loss. During this phase, the person begins to face the reality that the loved one is no more and becomes aware that the loss is final, that we cannot regain the loved one. Understandably, this confrontation is often accompanied by feelings of deep sadness and despair.
We end our Comforting Quotes For Loss Of Loved One hoping you will get over this tragedy. Stay safe and love each other. Everything else is an illusion.
